Candace graduated from the French Culinary Institute in NYC and earned a degree in culinary arts.
After working in restaurants, catering and cooking as a private chef, she realized she had a thirst for further knowledge regarding the food we eat. She attended New York University and received a Masters of Arts in Food Studies with a focus on child nutritional development through cooking and food knowledge. Subsequently, she married her finance and business skills with her culinary arts knowledge by becoming a restaurant consultant in one of the most exciting food cities in the world, NYC, where she was involved in creating new ventures, managing existing and tweaking old ones.
As the owner of In the Kitchen she is certain that this space organically brings together community, cooking, education, nutrition and most of all fun. Candace’s passion for good tasting food and the desire to educate those around them to not only enjoy good food but to be able to incorporate it into their own lives by preparing it themselves, is what will drive their CULINARY EDUCATION SPACE.
